Support is a verb. This is the guiding statement behind The Village Market. A few months ago, we had the pleasure of hosting Dr. Key Hallmon -- visionary behind the village. She shared with us the amazing successes so many Black owned businesses have seen from the support and guidance of the The Village Market. But she also shared with us the struggle. On average Black-owned businesses have a life span of 0 to 3 years, something that has only been compounded by the ongoing COVID19 pandemic.
When we heard that The Village Market team was opening a brick and mortar space in Ponce City Market, we were intrigued and excited! Last week, we finally got to check out the new space and catch up with Dr. Key. We wanted to bring you this updated episode just before Christmas, so that The Village Market Retail was at the forefront of your minds as you do some last minute holiday shopping.
